Immunisation information for midwives
In this webinar we will focus on aspects of vaccines and vaccine preventable disease that are most relevant to midwives and their clients. We’d like the session to be focussed on the information you most want to hear, so please give us some suggestions when you register. We expect to cover topics including:
• Maternal immunisation- why, how, and which vaccines?
• Safety of maternal immunisation for mothers and infants
• Vaccine composition
• Heath care professionals- influenza and pertussis immunisations
We plan to address the most common questions in a 15 to 20 minute presentation, leaving plenty of time to respond to live questions on the night.
Presenters:
Lisbeth Alley: Regional Immunisation Advisor, the Immunisation Advisory Centre
Helen Petousis-Harris: Academic Head, Immunisation Research and Vaccinology at the Immunisation Advisory Centre, Senior Lecturer in Vaccinology, University of Auckland
Karen Upton: Community midwife, Newborn Enrolment Coordinator, Auckland DHB.
